Our home sales continue, and qualified homebuyers can now get additional down payment assistance from the City of Houston. Meanwhile, our recent solicitation drew responses from 40 for-profit and non-profit builders and developers interested in HLB’s new programs and upcoming HLB property sales. 

Houston Land Bank hosted the Center for Community Progress’ 2019 VAD Academy in mid-May; nearly 120 attendees from 19 states visited Houston for the two-day session to discuss how to restore and rejuvenate vacant, abandoned and deteriorating properties. 

On Tuesday, March 23, 2027, we are throwing open the doors for the HLB Homecoming Luncheon at The Junior League of Houston. We chose the name deliberately. This is a homecoming for everyone who has shaped this work, and it is a launching point for where we go next. 

On that stage we will debut our annual report and share announcements about the expansion of our reach across the Houston region. We will honor Mayor Lee P. Brown, whose leadership helped make this work possible, with Graciela Saenz and David Collins chairing the celebration. Come home with us on March 23.
